    Looks like the new 24inch iMac has the option for the new ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics processor with 512MB of GDDR3 memory. Would love to see the new benchmarks on that !!! God Bless :)

    are iMacs upgradeable? as in, can you add extra ram on your own?

    For $1,500 you should be getting more than a 9400m. I don't know why anyone would decide on that model. Either get the cheaper one and upgrade the ram yourself or spring for the one with the GPU. That model is a ripoff.

    Too bad intel is taking their sweet time bringing out a quad core notebook CPU. I figured Apple would wait for that to update the iMac line but I guess they got tired of waiting and had to refresh.

    anyone know the specs of the card? i was told that the 4850 is actually a mobile version and to not expect it to review and perform like the desktop card i see reviewed everywhere.

    More often than not Apple does tend to use mobile GPUs in the iMac. Still even if it's the mobile HD4850, it'll probably perform near the desktop HD4830, which is pretty good all things considered.
