I thought new thermal paste would help. WRONG.
The issue is 2 fold. Since ElCrappyPlan OSX uses all of the ram it can, so you get multiple versions of firefox or chrome helper opening up. These can suck up 4GB of Ram and create uneccassary CPU usage.
The next I have noticed is any flash based video, well even sometimes Netflix sends the cpu to 98 degrees.
I do wonder if the OSX similar to recent talk about older iphones, is designed to make people feel the need for upgrade? Not saying it is or making an accusation, but I just dont see the point of the ram policy.
Anyway, any ideas on how I can reign in the CPU temps?
Its an i7 with the hd3000 IGP. 8GB of Ram.

Hello. It's very simple really, I have the 15 inch version but also 2011, when watching movies and such I reach at best around high 40s - low 50s.
I will update you when I wake up again with some pictures on what I did and a little experiment which I want to do to see if it improves the temps even further or not, that's why I'm not posting yet. I'm running Sierra which is million times worse than ElCrappyPlan could ever hope to be.
Pre fix I was alaos hovering around those high 80s and high 90s. -
Sounds good cant wait to hear from you. Yes Im running Sierra HD now too.
At first I thought it would just be an nvram and repaste job, so dissapointed. -
OK I fixed it simply by just using Safari which doesnt create these weird helper files. I have Mac Fans Control set to start from 40 and to be full blast at 70. It never gets that high, sometimes it gets to 60-65 when watching a movie. Just web browsing it sits at 50. Thats pretty normal?
2011 MBP 13 i7 STILL overheating.... HELP
