I was just going through the About this Mac items in my machine and I saw that the system report in more info shows I have integrated graphics "Intel HD"

    My MBP is 2010 i7 2.66 with Nvidia 330M 512MB - doesn't it have the 320M integrated solution?

You don't have the 320m. I think after the 2009 MBP Apple realized it was kind of pointless to have two Nvidia/two ATI graphics solutions in the same MBP and that most users would rather have a powerful discrete GPU and a weak integrated GPU. Only the 2009 MBP has the 9400m and 9600m in the same MBP. The 2010 and 2011 have a discrete GPU (at least the 15" + models) and an Intel GPU.

You don't have a HD3000 either (this is only seen on Sandy Bridge) you just have a basic intel integrated GPU built into your processor. I'm not sure what the exact model is but it isn't great. But the advantage is you draw less power with the intel then the 320m.

Truth be told, would you have ever noticed had you not looked it up? Intel's GPU is fine for most non-gaming tasks now.

To expand this a little bit, nvidia couldnt produce the chipsets for the core i series, and that is one of the reasons that the 2010 mbp 13'' wasnt updated to the core i processors, and its also why you dont have the 320m.

The 320m is an integrated gpu.

The gpu that you have is the intel GMA 4500mHD, while it aint the fastest kid in town, thats why you have that thing from nvidia

Apple could have made the choice to include a dedicated GPU and instead went for the Intel part. I suspect there is some bad blood between nVidia and Apple (and a lot of other vendors) from the old bumpgate scandal.

I had always been of the belief that my integrated was an Nvidia 320M. Sorry about starting a whole thread for this. How do i delete the thread?

Don't worry about it. It's information that other people will be glad to find if they have any questions.

    we have graphics switching:
    Intel HD Graphics
    and
    Nvidia GT 330m
when you play games, or photoshop it'll switch to the 330m, when you just browse the web, word process it'll use the intel HD to save battery.
    it switches automatically.

I think the intel graphics are internal to the CPU anyway. If I'm right, it's probably better to have a 330m/intel solution vs 330m/320m.

the intel hd graphics are internal to the core i series.
intel hd and 330m switch (core i mbp's)
nvidia 320m is discrete all the time. (core 2 duo mbp's have this)

320m is an integrated Nvidia chip and not a discrete chip at least in the Core 2 Duo MBP.

sorry i meant discrete, as in it's the only graphics adapter in the system, unlike the Core i MBP's which have two GPU's.
