    Hi,

I need to replace the broken screen on my late 2006 Black Macbook. The thing is I do not know which screen to buy. It would appear that the Macbook was sold with various different screens.

I was just wondering which one was the best? I heard that the Samsung one was terrible. I think the others were LG Philips and AUO, there could have been others Im not sure. As I am replacing it I want to get the best one.

im not too sure on that but im sure any screen that fits the 2006 models would be good, how can samsung be terrible when they make awesome HDTVs. maybe for screens, get the best brightest most contrast one you can find

fyi- replacing the entire laptop screen would probably cost more than selling the one you have now for parts and buying a new one (or a refurbished one) straight from apple.

My friend replaced the screen on his white 2007 macbook for around $70. He purchased the screen on ebay and did it himself but the new screen had a somewhat annoying blue tint regardless of how he tried to calibrate his screen.

Because laptop screens and HDTVs use completely different LCD manufacturing processes. I'd never buy any non-Samsung laptop if their laptop screens came from the same sheets of glass as their LCD TVs.
