    Greetings,

I'm on the verge of buying a 15.4 MBP and have only 1 remaining question. My use of the MBP is pretty simple (Safari,Mail,iTunes,Office X) but the one I'm most concerned about is using Avid Express Pro for occassional use as a satellite to my office desktop Avid Media Composer. It allows me to take a cut to the set for review and also for weekend ideas when hooking up to media on external drives.

Will the NVIDIA 128 SDRAM be enough or do I need to go for the 2.4 GHz model with the NVIDIS 256 SDRAM? What problems would I see with the 128 if its only used for re-rendering opticals that lose their render in the migration from desktop to notebook? Any playback problems?

Unless you're requiring something with super high frames per second then the 128 should do fine for you. The jump from the 128 to the 256 isn't as large as it would seem at first(though it is nice).
I think, for an extra $200 it's not really worth it if you're only using it on occasion. Had you said that this would be your main rig for doing video and renderings, I'd say get it, but otherwise the lower model should do fine for you.

Video editing is not that hard on a video card.

Motion, 3d, some After Effects previews, maybe, but Avid/FCP should be fine with the 128MB.
