Do these two computers have the same battery life?
Common intuition says that the 2.0 will last longer, but I'm not sure. If so, by how much?

incorrect intuition. if anything it goes the other way, but really they have the same battery life.

What is AluBook? Aluminum MacBook?

I've just never seen that before lol. But the battery life will remain the same.
-
Same battery life, when running on battery they will be under clocked to similar clock speed to conserve energy. 2.4 vs 2.0 are the maximum clockspeed and you hardly reach that speed with normal usage. Go for the 2.4 if you think believe the things you do are processor intensive.
-
Out of curiosity, what is the processor downclocked to when AC is unplugged? -
AC without battery inside will be under clocked to as low as 1.0GHz....you lose up to 40% performance without battery inside.....not sure about AC with battery inside.

The 2.0 AL MB has been tested to have about 5 mins better battery life than the 2.4MB so really there is nothing in it.
The 2.4 MB ran for 238 mins in Mac OSX and the 2.0 MB ran for 242 mins in Mac OSX.
