I have two questions concerning a RAM upgrade for the MBP.

    1. Is there any way to manually set DRAM timings with the MBP?
Or to be more precise: will I be able to run RAM that is SPD timed with CL5 (but capable of running at CL4) at CL4 speeds?

    2. Assuming there will be a refresh for the MBP this year (which would of course exclude Penryn) is there any chance this would bring anything faster than PC5300 DDR2 SODIMMs as default memory to use? (before answering please consider that this wouldn´t necessarily mean an automatic increase in FSB mhz).

I seriously doubt that Apple would add 800MHz RAM to the Macbook Pro line, or any line for that matter before the FSB is raised frm 667MHz (for RAM)....
