I need your opinion please, I ordered MBP 15" 2.4 processor, 2GB ram, 160GB 7200rpm.... will take about 4-6 weeks to get shipped to me.

Now, I'm working with all kind of graphics programs, audio and video editing. I noticed that the resolution of the 15" notebook is way lower than the 17" notebook but the difference in $$$ is huge (about $400).

I can not justify the difference in price, but if there will be a big difference that helps me in my work I'll diffinatly go with the 17"

I'm currently using 1680x1050 resolution, came from 1920x1200... is there a big difference between the 1680x1050 and the MBP 1200x900 ?

    What do you think?

    Edit: sorry I meant 1440x900 not 1200x900

You've got some information wrong...the MacBook Pro does not have that resolution.

The 15.4-inch MacBook Pro has a 1440x900 resolution. The 17-inch MacBook Pro has a 1680x1050, or an optional 1920x1200 resolution.

The 13.3-inch MacBook is the one with 1280x800 resolution.

I think the 1440x900 resolution is good, but obviously the higher resolution will help in Photoshop work. Keep in mind the 15.4-inch MacBook Pro has an LED-backlit screen, while the 17-inch does not.

I like the 15" since it is more portable. The 17" is quite a bit bigger.

I'd rather have the 15" and an external monitor than the 17" at 1920x1200.

2 screens also seems to help organize things a little better.

I do wish that the 15" came with a 1680x1050 screen though.

15" with an external monitor would be excellent.

I would personally go for the 17" model as it is worth the extra cost for me for a lot of different reasons. and the 17" MBP is way more portable than any other 17" i have used.

How would you go about setting up dual 'separate' screens?

Like as if you have 2 computers, you know how you see in the movies... :p or do you actually need two computers for that?

I'll not be able to use 2 monitors, I have 21 monitor attached to my desktop, there is no place to put another monitor, besides i use my laptop @ work too, so it will be hard to disconnect everyday to take my laptop to work, then go back home to work as a free lancer.
