I'm getting ready to buy a MBP (15", 2.16Ghz), and I'm looking at upgrading the Hard Drive, but I'm not sure if I should go with the 7200rpm for the performance improvement or the 120GB for the space (either way, it's the same cost). I will be running Boot Camp (and possible Parallels), so HD size would be important, but I haven't seen anything that whether or not the 7200rpm drive shows a significant performance boost.

    Thoughts?

well, ram is the best upgrade that you can do. A 7200 rpm HD will basically make load times shorter, but it will be a lil louder, lil more heat, and you will have less space as if you go with the 120 GB HD, I would go for a 5400 rpm with 120 gb of hd space. Upgrade the ram of newegg.com or some other site to make your computer faster.

get the 120GB... the MBP is hot enough as it is and the 7200RPM will only add to that

The 7200 RPM should not generate very much more heat, and will not draw much more power. Having said that, go for the bigger drive. I wish I had a bigger drive looking back on it.
