Well which one would be best for viewing .pdf's while laying in bed? I like the 15" MB but afraid it might be too big and get too hot if I sit it down on my bed to read.

I like the 13" for portability but I won't be traveling around a lot so the smaller size is not that important.

Currently, I have an old PowerMac G5 2.0Ghz Dual but it's too big :D (j/k)

    TIA

I would go with the 15". I generally prefer to do work on my 15 MBP. The screen is bigger (duh). Temperature should be similar. In fact the 15 might run cooler.

no difference whether it is on your desk or on your bed since the vents are on the back, not bottom.

I have the 13" alu MacBook for just that purpose and I love it. I know screen size is a matter of personal preference but overall I think the 13" option is the best compromise for size/weight/portability.

Wow, your MBP is quite the traveler :p. I'm always afraid my MBP will get damaged if I take it off my desk.

So why buy a laptop? :p

And I say go with the 13". Personally I prefer the 15", but if you really can't decide you'd probably be alright with either of them, and you can save some $$ if you get the 13.
