Bringing in an SD slot and bringing back the FireWire port—while also lowering prices—eliminated Apple's weakest links in the 13-inch MacBook Pro. Add bigger, better battery life and you've got yourself a winner.

    Hi Phil
Thanks for posting that. Now this one is something that I might be able to afford. It also looks like it will run Photoshop Elements well. I'm not a gamer so that part is not a big deal.
The saga continues, Will I or will I not get one.

That's the second review that had nothing but praises for the 13 MBP. I'm almost tempted now to pick one up instead of the 15. The screen issues with the first unibody MBs made me return mine but it looks like the new ones definitely have an upgraded screen.

PCMag - source of the 'fastest Vista machine (we've tested)' nonsense as well as a lot of other pro-Apple BS, so still worth taking with a pinch of salt if you do have a brain.

Still, if the external battery situation works out in practice I might end up migrating my Unibody Crapbooks. I'll wait for the inevitable QC problems to subside though - maybe end of this year.

I just ordered mine this morning. I got the base model and ordered 4GB of memory from Crucial. $1099 was too hard to pass up.
