    Hello there everyone, I was deciding to create a new topic to ask few questions about this machine, Let me first tell you my machine now,
    ASUS G1S
    3 GB of Ram, 500GB HD, Intel® Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.19 GHz

    Also I have another system which is the Lenovo S10e, Which I bought dirty cheap from the university,

    What I use my laptop mainly for,
    -For sure the normal stuff, Browsing the internet, Browsing my files,pictures and a lot of videos.
    -Use Photoshop ,Light Room and video editing. I really want iMovie and Final Cut Express . But I don't really care about the time if the difference is less than 30% from the faster ones.

    Now I have the 2 machines and one time I use my laptop and the other I use my other netbook cause it's light and have a great battery life, taking it with me to the university and that stuff.
    Some times I need files in my ASUS but in my Hand is the small Lenovo!
    That's really bad situation am running in and I don't have the time to move the files from this to this... Actually my lenovo is always not inside with me at home.

    I love photography and I do have Canon 500D which I do edit 15Mp RAW photos and some little HD and Full HD video editings.

    Do you recommend getting the Macbook Pro 13" with:
    * 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    * 250 GB Hard Drive << Can I exchange with my current 500GB? , 8x DVD/CD SuperDrive, 4GB DDR3 RAM
    * 13.3 inch LED-backlit display, 1280-by-800 resolution
    * NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor with 256 MB of shared memory
    * Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard Operating System

    So after I get this one, It will mainly be my only system, I will do sell the other 2, for the mean time I can afford this. If my ASUS G1s is doing very very good job for me, But it's nothing when talking about a light machine and great battery life.
    and what about HDMI, will this macbook smoothly connect to Full HD Monitors.

    Also another question.
    Can I take my 500GB HD 2.5" sata from my ASUS G1s and throw it in the MBP?
    Also what about the WD 750GB ?
    By the way I know how OS X work, and I love it!

    Thanks in advance! ;) Peace!

    I don't know if this is the best section for this. I could move it to "what notebook should I buy" so it gets better exposure and perhaps a few unbiased opinions.

    Let me know if you want me to move it.

    But because am looking into the 13" MBP and I have no other choice I though I should stick with the Apple forum?
    Because the questions are specified to the MBP 13" :)
    Thank you my friend!

    Ok, will leave it here. If you change your mind, shoot me a PM.

    As for a few of your other questions;

    HDMI will work just fine. But you will need an adapter that converts mini display port to HDMI.

    You can use the 500GB 7200RPM drive in the MacBook. The 750GB won't fit because it has a 12.5mm height.

    You can't go wrong with your choice of MacBook.

    BTW here's the HDD replacement instructions: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/MBPRO_13inch_Mid2009_Hard_Drive_DIY.pdf

    if you want to switch to using OSX for everything, then that sounds like a good move.

    you can put in any SATA drive thats 2.5" and 9mm high, just not the 12mm drives, they are too thick.

    You shouldn't have any problems with full HD on an external monitor. Apple doesn't make any HDMI connectors, but 3rd parties do. The mini-DP on there does audio and video fine, so you can get a good mini-DP to HDMI adapter that says it supports audio... just make sure you get one that works, cuz the older models didn't support audio, so there some adapters on the market that do only video.

    I think it is a good move. Like you I have a handful of different machines, laptop for home, netbook for travel, desktop for heavy things.

    It is much nicer to just have one to do it all. The mac I think will be great for what you need. Now battery is good but not 10hrs so you have to plan for that in case you feel you need 7+hrs.

    Since I got my mac it is all I want to use, dont fear the apple!

    Yep, I know how do they calculate that, screen brightness at lowest, no wifi nothing else I might reach that 10 hours :D Actually if the battery will stay for 5+hours and will be like that up to 2 years it will be good for me, I don't need anything more than that time! Thank you BTW, Any advice!

    Ok is there any confirmed HDMI with audio in amazon, It seems to be a bit confusing!
    Thank you in advance!
    I'm searching for one, Some of the reviews says it supports, others says not! I will ship this from US overseas to Kuwait, So it's not good for me to return products! Thank you again!

    the adapter has to support audio... and it has to be used on a 2010 Macbook Pro (or Macbook I think). Anyone trying to use an adapter that supports audio on a 2009 and older Mac will only get video, because the mini-DP port on the side isn't giving out audio at all until the 2010 models.

    Yep, But They don't say if that support audio or not,
    The thing that in the reviews down, Some says that audio works, others says not, so i got confused, even in their description they don't say audio or not.
    Could someone please give me a link to a one in amazon that supports audio and video over HDMI.
    What about this one!
    Amazon.com: Kanex iAdapt HDMI: APG: Electronics

    I do not believe that basic Kanex one there does audio. They have a better on, like seen int he picture that runs on both USB and the video and does both.. but thats for older MBPs that didnt support audio.

    The problem is, that its very new that you can use a single adapter in the one plug and get both, so makers are scrambling to get support out there, and they are really hard to find.

    I haven't been able to find one in stock anywhere that for sure supports it. There are some videos on YouTube of people showing it working, with simple ones bought at Frys... but I don't know the exact models.

    The one made by SendStation was asked about via their email support ( http://sendstation.com/us/products/mdpadapter/)...
    if it supported audio on the 2010 Macbook Pros (their website says no Macs support audio) and they answered back...

    Only other advice is that plan to not get what you think you will for your current machines. That sort of happened to me with mine, and although sucked I am still glad I got the mac.

    Is there anything to worry about!
