My short cuts to my programs is at the bottom in the "task bar" type thing are easily clicked, held to long and deleted by retards who use my computer sometimes.

Is there a way to not let this happen? Or ask my my admin password before it happens would be great.

There are multiple ways to do this. One is to create a non-administrator user account, and then go to Parental Controls in System Prefs, and make sure Modify the Dock is unchecked in Finder & Systems.
However, the above method does mean that you will have to use that non-administrator account.

Another way is to use a third party application such as DockLock, which will lock your dock. However, I do not believe DockLock is Tiger compatible. You can get it from: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/26661/docklock

Thank you that worked perfectly. Does the first way work in Leopard as well?

Yes. The first method worked since 10.2 or something I think.
