I'm not even coming close to this with my 2010 macbook pro 13 inch unless I turn my brightness down to 50%, on reboot it defaults to 100%. This is when doing nothing or just surfing the net. I can get about 7 hrs, with my laptop screen turned to 50%. Any tweaks available? I'd love to know how Apple came up with 10 hrs.

10 hrs is with minimum brightness, no wifi and doing office tasks. Hope this helps. 7 hrs is perfectly normal considering what you are doing.
-
Yeah...the 10 hrs is really under "ideal" conditions, but it is attainable. With my "7hr" 13" MBP I usually get 5 hrs with 50% brightness, wifi on and doing normal web surfing (ie: minor or no flash stuff).
-
yeah i have the new "10 hour" mbp and i get on average about 7 hours with medium brightness with wi-fi on.
-
7 hours of surfing the web with just wifi on is pretty good. I would settle for that. I barely get 2.5 hrs. out of my 15" Macbook Pro now
-
hey, same as you here. That's because of the battery degrading. I wish i had waited and bought the mid 2009 one.
-
Just get the battery replaced? Or does it not work that way?
That aside, maybe it's because my battery has not been calibrated but I don't get that 10 hour battery life at all.
I get off work at 5 probably start using my laptop around 7 or 8 ... By 11pm it's already showing that it's a little more than halfway drained.
I have Wi-Fi on, Keyboard lights off, Brightness = 4 notches (25%) ... What gives? -

they do tests with wifi on, screen at 50%... doing Pages and Safari (no flash)... and they get about 10 hours.
I'f I'm doing next to nothing.. screen to 50% wifi on... making sure flash isn't going, I can pull close to 9 easy... but I haven't sit with a timer waiting for it to just die when it runs out. I also make sure I have the keyboard light off, bluetooth off, and the auto brightness of the screen off too, cuz that can waste power wether its noticeably changing or not. -
10 hr battery life?
