Bah.. Just thought i'd say that.

Really sucks, I wanted my MBP before this weekend. Ah well, maybe when they come out next week(if they do) they'll have new ipods I can use the ipod discount with.

Come on apple! the wait is killing me!

Even if they were announced today you wouldn't have likely been able to buy one for another week or two anyway. I think that is most likely why Apple is waiting, so they can just announce the new processors are available and ready to ship.

Apple usually does not announce something if you cannot buy it that day. Core2Duo is still a couple weeks away I think.

I hope not. I've been itching for it for a while now. I'm just dreading loosing the ipod / printer promo if merom really comes out after the 15th (or was it 16th?).

The 16th is the last day of the iPod promotion. I think the printer promotion has a separate date.

I guess if it gets to the 16th and the Merom notebooks aren't available to purchase yet (not to mention the new iPod Nanos which might be announced on the 12th), you would have to decide which is more important; a free Nano (older model) and printer and a Yonah-based system, or a Merom-based system along with a new Nano (and possibly still a free printer).

Speaking of Merom, would the release technically be classified as a new revision? Seeing how it will be the same logic board, same everything but for an upgraded processor?

Also any links on repair history between Macs Revisions A & B?

I dunno. I'm wondering if they'll have a bit more efficient cooling system on it. We'll have to wait and see...

You would be able to buy it just that it will ship later

I know some people ordered a MBP last week and today they saw that their MBP will be shipped on september 13th... Is this a coincidence or...?

Probably not just a coincedence. People who had recently placed orders for Mac minis and iMacs have noticed similar things (shipping delays and then instant upgrades to the replacement models). It's a fairly common thing for Apple to do when a new product update is just around the corner.

So do you think that if I were to order a MBP this week, that they may wait to ship it till Merom comes out? That is... assuming merom orders will be available next week.

Not really sure. It will usually tell you the shipping estimate after you place the order. I'm not sure what they're doing with current MBP orders.

normally, an ordered mac on the apple website should arrive in +- a week. This time, it's really strange that they delayed it to the 13th, more then 2 weeks. So I think that those orders will have the merom cpu.

    Yeah, thats possible.

Although, most people that I know who have ordered MB and MBP get theres in about 2-3 days with normal shipping. I'm in Virginia BTW.
