I have some questions for those who are savy with the VLC player, as I'm getting choppy play from playing my files over my network.

I have my .avi videos stored on a harddrive, which is in my PC (Windows XP SP2). And I have that PC hooked up to my Linksys WRT54G v5 router ... which my Macbook Pro wirelessly connects to. Now, maybe I just don't have the settings setup right with the WRT54G ... and let me share them with you to make sure that this isn't my issue ...

Transmission rate: Auto (but can go up to 54mbps when set manually) (Default: Auto)

    Frame burst: Disable (Default: Disable)

    Beacon Interval: 100 (Default: 100,Milliseconds, Range: 1 - 65535)

    DTIM Interval: 1 (Default: 1, Range: 1 - 255)

    Fragmentation Threshold: 2346 (Default:2346, Range: 256 - 2346)

    RTS Threshold: 2347 (Default:2347, Range: 0 - 2347)

    AP Isolation: Off (Default: Off)

    -----------------------

So I have no idea if those settings are okay ... but I've wondered if the Frame burst should be enabled ... but I just don't know, I'm not savy with this stuff. So if you notice that something should be changed there, just let me know! Oh, I'm also using WPA security ...

So on my Mac ... I open up my Finder, go to Network, find my computer, find the folder I want ... and then it makes the shortcut to the folder on my desktop.

I then open VLC player, and then open the shortcut on my desktop, and I find the file I want to play. Everything looks good and sounds good ... but it glitches here and there, like it will skip a second or 2 of the show. It happens quite frequently ... not enough to drive you mad, but just about.

Should I be setting up the streaming thing on the VLC player? Is there something that I could do to make it play better? Any help is much appreciated!!!

    Thanks!
