Can I expect better prices for ths "obsolete" computer? I myself do not quite care about the "obsoleteness."

    Thanks.

    The set-up:
    1.33 GHz PowerPC G4/12.1" XGA/40GB/512MB/Ethernet/
    Combo Drive/ATI Mobility Radeon 9550

if all your going to do is email word prossesor and web surfing, it should be fine. the battery life on those are amazing, but it all depends what you need it for.

700 sounds like a fair deal.

Where did you find this? Have you checked Apples refurbished site? eBay? Macmall?

Like raider said it should be fine what he said above, and should support the new Leopard when it comes out since there is word going around that the new leopard install dvd has both PowerPC and Intel Architechture installation stuff.

A local store is dumping it.

Yeah it's for word processing, email, Web surfing, chat, etc.
    No gaming.

It has a faster processor than your powerbook G4, and since it does its probably on par or exceeds your powerbook in specs. Personally I would expect that ibook to go for about 600
