OK so I'm done with this 940XM,it is so erratic;sometimes I get good scores using a couple of benchmarking programs and it seems when the chip heats up a little the performance drops way off. Before I had this Alienware 15x, I had an MSI 060US with a 920XM,5870 gpu and I was looking at my scores with 3DMark Vantage and I used to get 13-14,000 for the cpu score. With this 940 I've never hit 10,000. Anyway my friend who sold me this ES sent me a 920 for$325 and if I get better performance with it I'm sending him back the 940 for a $450 full refund. In case your're wondering about the heat issue I did apply the Arctic Silver 5 according to their directions. I even tinted the heatsink as they suggested. Actually I haven't had this 940 in the full 200 hrs. breakin period. So later on today I'll try my luck with the 920.

 

Sure sounds like the 940xm was defective. Good luck with the 920xm.
