I seem to have problems when loading videos and general browsing of the internet as my speed slows down heavily at random times. When I look in device manager under networks I have the broadcom 802.11n network adapter, and the obvious intel 82577lc for the wired use.
The problem is that when I use hwinfo64 it says that i have the intel 1520 wireless-n half mini card, but I don't see the driver for that in device manager.
Could that be the thing causing the problem for me? Second, do I even need the broadcom wireless utility (basically shows my speeds, monitors noise, etc) for me to use wifi?

The Revelator Notebook Prophet
Try these: Drivers and Downloads. They're working well for me.
No, you don't need the Broadcom Wireless app to use wifi. The default Microsoft Windows wireless app will do fine. -
Well according to what you said rev, i uninstalled the broadcom utility but that made me lose wifi connectivity. So I did a system restore to get my wifi/broadcom utility back.
I tried the driver you linked to, went through the onscreen instructions (basically clicking ok through it), but the 1520 half mini still isn't in device manager.
This is what my device manager looks like.
EDIT**: sorry for the post before the edit, but i clearly am an idiot...i didn't install the driver initially i just extracted it (major face palm moment). Can I remove the broadcom adapter from device manager now?Attached Files:

Try updating the wireless card's driver to the latest version available using DriverMax
