    Hi there guys, I using m15x since 2010 .
    My m15x spec is :

    - CPU i7 Q740 @1,73ghz (8cpus)
    - VGA Ati mobility radeon HD 5730
    - RAM 8gb Vgen
    - BIOS ver A08
    - Power supply 140w
    - Windows 7 home premium 64bit

Now , i always play game like DOTA 2 , R.E 6 , Tomb raider all in LOW because that hd 5730 so old school :(

What i want to ask u guys,

If i buy AMD HD 7970m for my m15x, its just plug and play , thats it?

    OR

I must buy new CPU (i7 920xm), new Power supply (240w) , and many more?

My plan is just buy 7970m to upgrade my luvly m15x :D . Thanks anyway

There are numerous upgrade threads, search around. You dont need a 240w power supply, and they 7970m is mostly plug n play. Make sure you have the proper x-bracket, get thermal paste, and look through the 7970m thread for best voltage, and throttle fixes.

you don't need a new cpu as tomb raider hardly uses any cpu power at all.
games like battlefield 3 use a lot of cpu power so it depends what you want to play.

    I see..
I just play dota 2 in my m15x , so thats enough to still using CPU i7 Q740 @1,73ghz and buy 7970m ?

Buy the 7970m first, play whatever games you like and see how it runs.
With that cpu you won't have to worry about throttling when overclocking the graphics card.

Yes, I play DOTA 2 every day as well, maxed out at full FPS with no problem or throttle at all. Maximum temperature at 70 degrees for me.

Man, if you already deal with a 5730m on a 740qm. I think you wouldn't want to deal with any hassles besides a simple swap. Others may be angry with me over this suggestion (since im using a high-end equiped M15x). I think you should honestly go to a 460m or 560m assuming its entirely 'Plug and Play' without needing any extra work at all. The Dell 7970m is on another level of the i7-740qm and I feel while it can be 'Plug and Play' you'll definitely pay more. If you don't mind paying extra 200 dollars or more, go for a DELL 7970m

tl;dr - Based on my understanding of your post and situation. Go for the 460m or 560m at a great price (probably like 100-125$)
