    dvd drive wont accept discs

    DVD drive makeing fast clunking sound put a cd in it makes the fast clunking sound the spits it back out, tried powering off on and differant discs, no change all i did was eject skyrim disc then tried to put another disc in and it started that noise, what to do now in UK and in extended warrenty just 4th year,
    mx15 not a blue ray player tho

    If the system is still in warranty, then Dell will replace the drive for you. Just call dell tech support. It has happened to me twice and I got the drive replaced both the times.

    replace disk drive with hdd and get an external disk drive. sorry i like to make things complicated. :)

    :mad: drive broke on saturday, emailed dell on saturday afternoon, :confused: monday afternoon dell mailed me back saying engineer be with me in couple days, ;) on wedsday morning got call from engineer saying he would be with me in 2 hours :eek: he came fixed it in 15 mins, no hassel no scratches all working,... pucker dell service with a :) well done dell

    I am having this same issue, but i haven't used my drive since a couple of months so can't say when this started.... my warrenty ended a couple of months ago too...what should i do?
