u can try to repair your windows using windows CD...
or u can try to plug ur HDD to your desktop to try repairing the file from there... -
btw, have u tried boot using "Last Known Good Config" ?
*press F8 when boot to get this option* -
well that doesnt help at all
i changed the sid so causing the computer cant recognize itself
a backup might recover it but i didnt made any backup
repair wouldnt undo the sid changes i guess
besides i've already tried
when going to repair i can run CMD
so just wondering how can i change my sid back within dos? -
Ummm, how and why did you change your SID? If you know what it was, change it back the same way you changed it. You can also try the Microsoft SysPrep utility. SysPrep rewrites the SID and is used to build an image that can be re-distributed across multiple computers. However, there is no guarantee that SysPrep will solve your problem. The best solution is just to do a reinstall of Windows 7. You can try to "upgrade" your existing install which will leave your files and programs in place:

Barring this, you are going to have to just re-install Windows 7. Unless you nuked it, you should have the restore partition from Alienware which is pretty painless. Good luck!

Back up your data by connecting the harddrive to another computer as an external hdd, then put it back and make a fresh install!

See if you can find Norton Ghost SID Walker.
or pop the drive into an external and try NewSID.
