hi guys im currently using 740qm atm
have a guy say i can exchange his 920xm with my 740qm plus35bucks
i think its fair enough but just one question
if i exchange it with him
when i need repairing from dell, will they find out?
(if they repair in my house)coz last time when they come over they didnt bother to check the spec(i didnt even swap back my ssd)
but is it high risk to void warrenty?
he say if i dun exchange, the 920xm will be around 150bucks
still cheap though but just wanna spend less

Yeah sounds like a fair deal. Just be careful with the new cpu and confirm its in good and working condition.
-
Ya before making that deal make sure it is fully functional, at it does indeed have no problems. Only reason I say this is because those cpus don't run that cheap, unless you are getting it from a friend which is a whole different story.
-
and they will exchange in one month if it is not functional
so you prefer me trade my 740 with him or keep it? -
Is it a ES/QS?
Also, if I read your original post correctly you're saying you can get it for $150 without trading your 740qm? If that is correct, how much if you do trade your 740qm. Either way the 920xm is a great cpu, and with throttlestop you can get some great performance out of it. -
yes its a qs
150$without

I would pay the $150 and keep the 740qm. First, you may need the 740 for warranty issues if the additional stress resulting from the 920xm results in problems for other components. Second, that price is almost too good to be true, even for an ES/QS version, so you'll have a backup if it fails or is otherwise defective. Be careful out there, but a helluva deal if legit. If.
