    Will taking bottom panel off reset cmos battery void warranty?

    :confused: I am trying to see if anyone knows if pulling my bottom panel off to pull my cmos battery to reset settings will that void my warranty?

    There is no way of knowing if it would void your warranty, but there is no way for dell to know if you did it

    you can do it when you need, i had a problem with the motherboard and the dell tech told me to reset the bios this way

    depending on how it was put on, you might be able to disconnect the battery without removing the glue. even if you have to remove the glue however, it re-sticks. just be careful when seperating because it's surprisingly strong.
