What is the M15x Resource DVD?

Hey,

I'm about to reinstall Windows 7 on my computer, hopefully making the computer as fast as it was before again. Just wondering after I reinstall Windows using the OS CD that came with the computer, do I use the resource DVD after that? What is the resource DVD? If this means anything I bought my computer in December 2009, so I'm assuming the resource DVD has the old Command Center in it, and I'm running the new one. Does that mean that I should not use the resource DVD?

Use the OS DVD to perform a fresh install on your system but download the drivers from Dell support, except probably the video driver and WiFi (that's up to you)

ESPECIALLY COMMAND CENTER. DON'T INSTALL IT FROM THE RESOURCE DVD (see the sticky thread)

 

So after I reinstall Windows do I forget using the resource DVD and just go on the Dell support site to download all my drivers?

 

Yes.
Refer to this thread for the drivers installation order. Note that the list was created to be relevant to all Dell/Alienware models so some drivers won't apply to the M15x.
