Hey guys,
I've had the M15x for a few years now, recently I started getting an issue where the CD drive would start to eject when not commanded to, it would do it in a repetition that sped up until it was unbearable and i had to restart.
Other times I would boot the computer and the CD drive would constantly eject and then the computer would freeze, I've tried steps such as disabling the CD drive and updating the driver, the next thing I was going to do was physically detach the cable and see if the freezing portion continued.
I think at this point it may not be unreasonable to assume the CD drive failure is causing the freezing but it could be a bad motherboard.
Has anyone encountered this problem with the M15x and has more insight then I?
Thanks

as you said, once you get around to detaching the drive physically, it should fix itself, which means faulty drive. if it doesnt then it might be something more then that

I would also disconnect it to isolate the issue.
