Hey guys,
I just ordered a new Alienware 15, and it will be arriving approx ~26th of this month. I bought mine with the i5-4210H, and was curious to see if i could upgrade to the i7-4710hq later on down the road. My only concern is I am unsure if the motherboard will be compatible with the I7. I want to say no since they are both the same chipset, however, I am unsure due to the quad vs dual.
Also, if it is possible to upgrade, where can I buy the I7?
Thanks broskis and brosefs.

I think it should be possible. I know you can but I have no idea if dual core vs quad core makes a difference, I would guess you can still do it since it uses the same chasis and motherboard I believe.

Whoops: forgot H means soldered *facepalm*Last edited: Jun 16, 2015

 fatboyslimerr Alienware M15x FanaticFirstly....wrong forum....this is for the M15x from 2011.
Secondly any Intel chip with the H part means its soldered to the motherboard so you have ZERO upgrade options in the future in terms of CPU.Galm likes this.
