Nope I always push the PSU to it's limits and when it reaches the limits it simply shuts off no throttle of any kind! When it shuts off the laptop shuts off instantly too. It takes a power drain just to turn the machine on again + system restore from safe mode to get back into windows! Really sucks! If I don't system restore then I get a flashing welcome to windows screen at startup! The flashing won't stop unless I reboot in safe mode and then initiate system restore :(

I need a better power solution asap....soon gentlemen soon.

Has anyone found the right angle converter for sale in europe? I have been searching for it for months now and couldn't find any seller that ships to Romania. I found a listing on ebay recently, but I'm not keen on paying a 36$ shipping for a 6$ piece of plastic. Anyone? :D

Amazon also has around same shipping costs. $30 a $6 piece isn't ideal, but you may not have other options unless you have a friend in a nearby country willing to ship to you.

In an indirect way it might. When you overclock your cpu the 150W will not supply enough power and your system will throttle down. The 240W one will supply enough power and you will not throttle anymore, therefore your temp will go higher :)

By the way, where are you from? I think I wanted to get the same 940xm you got, but you saw it before me. It was an absolute bargain, I went crazy for a day for not seeing that offer earlier.

Edit: You're definitely from Bucharest :)), jesus you got that 940xm for sbout 46 euro, I still can't belive it :))

Did you Guy's ever thought about hybride cooling the M15x, water and air i mean? seems to me a good idea. so you kan leave it on air while moving around and at home gaming connect the watercooling............worth a try maybe.

just to let you guys know, im working on a nice solution to the switch issue.

in short im upping the capacity of the 150watt supply and adding an internal center pin shut off switch.
the intial one looks meh cuz i didnt know how to open the supply cleanly

this is how i did it.
i opened the supply and looked for a good spot to mount the switch
i found one near these optos on the board

so i cut out the case and ran the wires. while i had it open i decided to do the caps since its kind of old. this is real simple. desolder the green wire and run it to the center tap of the switch, run a new wire from either outer post of the switch and run it to where the green wire was

all done ready to be buttoned up. so you guys know i epoxied the switch to the opto. this isnt ideal but its the best solution i could come up with haha

a look at the switch installed in one side

case closed. yes its ugly. these things dont like to come apart at all. maybe ill try a dremel next time. the break open doesnt work so well....

sealing the case back up took a bit of thinking.... i decided on black RTV silicone and a few zipties till it solidified. looks good so far!!!

its hard to tell from straight on but the switch is litterally 2-3mm in the case so i dont have to worry about bumping it accidentally.

also in case you guys are wondering i am an industrial electronics repair tech by day! please excuse my messy work bench. it gets a little hectic sometimes with all the parts i have to change on what im working on

incase anyone wants to know the values of the capacitors
    1000uf 25vdc near the connector
    680uf 25vdc near the connector
    33uf 50vdc near the optos
47uf 50vdc near the switching transistor
    150uf 420vdc bus cap
