Hi guys, I am highly considering upgrading my Seagate Momentus XT 750GB SSHD (Generation 2) to an SSD. My question is what advantadges would I see over my current SSHD and would I see a substancial improvement in general across all boards of my computer even though my drive already has 8GB of SLC cache. Also I know the M15x is restricted by the SATA II connections, but will I still get very fast speeds in general and is it still worth getting an SATA III SSD? This is the SSD i'm thinking of getting...

The reason why I chose 512GB rather than a smaller sized one is because I want to store all of my files and most of my games on my drive which will still leave me about 180GB left of space on my SSD. Plus it will mean I can get full speed for everything instead of just the OS and some programs. Is this a good choice in terms of SSD?

As long as you have the money, the bigger, the better.
Substantial performance boost is expected. The cache can only handle a small part of your IO while a new SSD would take care of everything. -

i would highly recommend it, it was the best upgrade i have made on my M15x.
