Now that Dell shipped me my replacement 460M card my m15x is running fine. I am considering getting a bigger proc over winter to replace the 740, i see some are engineering sample labeled as QS or ES and are cheaper. Does this matter in anyway, or is it some at worst some tiny percentage chance of it not being as good as getting an 'OEM' labeled for much more money?

I own an es and it works really good, i paid 370 at the time im sure its abit cheaper nowadays. Dont expect a giant performance boost unless u overclock it. My fav upgrade to date is the ssd, i would recommend the ssd over the cpu upgrade

thanks, perhaps I'll wait then for SSD or a future GPU upgrade to the 460M (cant afford a 6990 at this time). I dont plan on overclocking.
