I've been able to get them to work by doing a power drain, but this is happening all the time now.
Anyone have any ideas?

Could it be? The end of my beautiful M15X??? Nooooooo! -
hmm, never seen this type of thing before. what i was thinking might be the software causing the problem. if all else fails. i might try formating.
for now i might try reinstalling the command center. remember to use the one from dell website not the CD. sorry that's all i can think of for now. -
No worries man. I appreciate the help and the effort.

Anyone know how to tell which version of the OSD software I have installed?
Thanks -
Have you check the cable for the touch media control?

for the OSD it is best just to uninstall and install the newest one from the website. well as a foolproof method you could try pressing F7. If it ejects the disc then you have the old version. the new one fixes that
