Thanks yall for the reply
btw, how short is the mamba battery life mate? reviews didn't spec it
-
Hmmm, it's been a while since using it, I think I got maybe 2 or 3 days on fairly light use. I get many weeks out of the performance.
-
hahaas... 2-3 days out of light use.. geez...
I saw the review on the mamba already. 14 hours straight usage. 72 hours idle time.. hmm.. If only they have like a extra cable just for power. So i can plug and play at the same time without disconnecting the port eg the x8...
I love the design of the mamba, but hate the un-practicalitality...
I'm from singapore btw, and theres a COMEX IT Fair this thursday, hopefully i can make my choice LOL -
I guess 2-3 days is a bit harsh, I do tend to leave mice on surfaces that keep waking them from sleep mode even tho I'm not using them so they do lose extra power while idle.
-
-
I do hope I get to hands on the mamba first.
Guys is there any problem with the mamba and alienFX? Hmm. -
It's all good, the AlienFX problems were fixed with bios A05.
-
-
X8 wired right?
might as well plug in the mamba all the way? -
x8 is wireless. the dock itself has a wire to charge in the event of a low battery emergency. no plugging or unplugging too. just magnetic magic
-
Razer mamba (l)
-
hahas.. will see how. during the IT Fair in singapore, the X8 is going @ SGD$99.
No price for the mamba yet but shd be SGD$180.
USD $1 = SGD $1.40.
50% more for a razer. sets me thinking abit.. -
-
hm.. i'll most probably go for the microsoft sidewinder x8. still feel thats more practical.. and probably the mamba for my desktop in the future..
-
I have a Razer DeathAdder for my gaming and a Microsoft Arc mouse for my browsing on the go!
-
nice...
hmm, seems like noone using bluetoothy uh? -
Logitech G9x Laser
-
besides, i need to replace it with a proper gaming mouse to match the alienware -
-
hahaha.. g9x is nice but gonna be over my budget..
-
razer naga, get imba!
-
naga hmm.. I've stopped wowing for awhile already
-
Trust me, you're going to be plenty happy with the X8. I did absolutely no research (impulse buy due to the pricing mistake I saw, as I said before) but I'm really happy. Love the two thumb buttons and the lack of rubberized grip, and also like the easy on-off charger.
-
Will let you all know the details of the mouse as a FPS gamer myself.
Thanks alot for the contribution to the thread mateys -
Microsoft Deals on Comex $99 SGD for X8. -
gonna buy buy a new mouse today too, my mamba is crapping out on me, thinking of getting the r.a.t. 7, looks awesome for fps games with the precision aim button. will keep everyone posted on the results.
-
-
I've also got the Razor Deathadder, because it matches the M15x perfectely and is nice and big!
Question for you Razor users, has anyone download the software, or do you all just run with standard OS drivers? Not sure if they'd be any benefit so I haven't bothered as yet? -
-
hmm... updates for yall...
bought the mamba out of impulse.. enjoying it currently with abit of css haha..... came with a free goliath mousepad but didn't use it yet.. using exactmat (control side).
Hopefully the enjoyment lasts

Just ordered my Razer Orochi from Amazon for £48.95, in preparation.... Roll on December!!
-

Razer Mamba updates: the battery problem isn't as bad as i think and neither is the plugin plugout of the cable.. easy as pie
love the feel of the mouse -
-
I've ordered a Logitech G700 gaming mouse, will let ya's know if it's any good.
-
I ended up getting a orochi and love the feel of it just need the lappy to go with it. Wife liked it so much she bought one for her m11x lol.
-
i have the alienware wired mouse, i bought a mamba then realized how stupid it was to have a wireless mouse that needs to be plugged in for 130.00.
-
I have been hunting around for a Logitech G700 and man they are hard to come by in the UK right now. I currently have a Microsoft X8, but my wife started using it and she likes it and I hate the hockey puck. So we'll see!
-
been using the mad catz R.A.T 7 for a week now. overall one of the best gaming mice i've used so far. after customizing the fit and weight, it feels like it was made for me. and the precision aim button is awesome once you get used to it, boom head shot, hehhehehe
-
I am considering purchasing one to use with my desktop.
Thanks -
overall comparing it with a mamba i say the mambe would feel better in my hands. grip wise its real nice, i'm not using the pinking rest, i found it felt odd using it. it feels solid to me, but i can understand why people say it feels cheap, because it looks like a toy. i didn't like it at all on the first day, but after a few days i got use to it and now i'm loving it. i got mine a fry's so i can return it if it doesn't work out, but i think this one is a keeper.
-
i am probably gonna catch some flak for it but....microsoft wireless mouse 5000.

My Mini Review of the Logitech G700 Gaming Mouse.
Took 4 weeks to arrive but I finally got my G700 and first impression is F-Yeah, everything works as hoped. It's comfortable with a shape most like the MX Performance tho on the sides it's a roughened plastic surface rather than the usual rubber grip. On the performance the left mouse button sat a lot higher than the right mouse but a lot of people didn't like that, on the G700 the mouse buttons are more level. The scroll wheel is perfect, the middle click is easy to use without doing the side scroll as well. It feels the same as the one on my MX1100 which has the best scroll wheel I've used. The G700 has extra buttons for gaming, they are easy to press and all have their surfaces on slightly different angles which makes them easy to distinguish by a quick touch. There's one thing I'd been wishing for and it was granted, you can save different profiles (button mapping) for each game and you can store 5 profiles on the mouse for transport. It's also great for people who like different DPI settings, you can have anywhere from 2 to 5 DPI levels and you can adjust each to taste (up to 5700DPI). With the previous generations of Logitech (MX1100 and MX Performance) it's been a common complaint from gamers that the mice are not responsive enough and don't have good fine detail movement. The G700 is supposed to combat this by having a polling rate of 1000. Personally I've never had a problem gaming with the old mice so I may not be the best person to judge but I'm sure this mouse is much smoother and headshots were still easy at high DPI settings which I can't say for the other mice. One disappointment was that it only takes a single AA battery, I was hoping they'd use 2 for longer life. Still, who knows, I'm yet to see what kind of battery life it has. Also till now I had resisted installing the Logitech Setpoint v6.15 software because I'd heard a lot of bad things about version 6 so I stuck with v4.80 but the G700 was not recognized and I had to upgrade Setpoint anyhow. That said I've not had any trouble with v6.15 (yet...). Another small let down is that while the receiver is a nice micro one that never needs to be removed it's not a unifying receiver. I had been using a MX Performance for gaming and a MX Anywhere for travel and they could both work off the same unifying USB receiver. I can't do this with the G700 so switching to the travel mouse means switching receivers.
Conclusion (based on a few hours use): Highly recommended, it's pretty much what the MX Performance should have been.
And a TL/DR:
Pros:
- Excellent scroll wheel (similar to the MX1100).
- Various gaming buttons are easily distinguishable by touch.
- Very flexible DPI settings.
- Profiles are stored on the mouse.
Cons:
- Does not use a Unifying receiver so can't have a 2nd travel mouse piggyback off the same receiver.
- Only works with Setpoint 6.15 (4.80 does not see the mouse).
- Uses only a single AA battery, yet to see how long a charge lasts. -
The m15x in my siggy is arriving tuesday next week, and I'll be using my Razer DeathAdder with it
