Was looking at finally connecting up my M15x to my TV. Just wondering if these parts were correct to get the job done, or was there something better/cheaper:
displayport to hdmi adapter:
Dell - Kit - DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter : Desktop Accessories | Dell Australia
Hdmi cable:
Comsol High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet 1.4 Male to Male 3m at $29.35 in AV Cables
That hdmi cable is 1.4, would i need 1.3a?

You don't need to spend that much on an HDMI cable. 1.3 or 1.4 is fine, but I'd say you need to spend a max of $10 on one. There's a myth that more expensive cables give a better quality picture. This is rubbish, and the only thing you get for your money is a better build quality. I live in the UK so can't advise where to get one from - but ebay is often what I use. This will work perfectly:
Insten 10 Feet 10Ft 3m V 1.4 HDMI Cable+Ethernet 3D 1080p Gold For HDTV PS3 | eBay
HDMI cables are universal, ignore the Xbox/PS3 etc that people list them as being for, they only do that to get the max hits on their advert. -
yeah but if you ever go 3d in the future you could use that 1.4 hdmi cable for it instead of buying a separate one.....

thanks fellas, prompt and precise as always +rep...will report back

Got the displayport to hdmi cable from dell aus ($24.20 shipped) and the hdmi cable linked above ($6). Both work flawlessly. Plug n play!
