Anyone with the same sort of setup as me experiencing video card stuttering in most games? First I thought it was the game needed to be updated but it is happening in all games i play, Tomb Raider, Battlefield, Far Cry 3 and Borderlands 2. It happens even with all settings on low and is particularly bad when i quickly turn left of right. I can been playing at 60-70 fps but it feels like 25-30 sometimes.
Here is a video (not by me) that more or less describes my issue I am having, Open Letter to DICE and Nvidia - Stuttering in Battlefield 3 - YouTube
Any ideas how i can fix this?

What drivers are you using?
Are you using any third-party programs to change voltages/clocks on either CPU or GPU?
Can you run some games while logging information using HWInfo or similar tools in order to check temperatures and utilization?
You may want to consider upgrading to 8 or 16GB of RAM (although the stuttering should not be from the RAM).
Do consider that the 740qm CPU is not exactly powerful these days.
Also, you haven't mentioned what driver version you're using. -
Hi,
Thanks for your reply, I am now using the the official release of 13.4, I rolled back the other day from the latest beta, 13.6 thinking that it might solve this issue but it didnt. Yes i usually run hwinfo to keep an eye on the temps and they have added a new feature that lets you know if you cpu is thermal throttling but it never is, if it was to do with temps i would think that all game would run for fine for 2 or 3 mins then this stuttering would start, however its there right from the start every time, even from a cold boot.
I know what your saying about the cpu and i thought that it was the cpu that was causing it in 64 player battlefield on ultra, however even after trying tomb raider single player in even the smallest area with settings on low I have ruled it out being the issue. -

And how do the temps look like?

Temps are all good, I recently re pasted and get from 67 degreess to 75 depending on the game.

Check to see which component is throttling. Probably GPU but you can check by monitoring gpu core clock speed or cpu frequency on any tool like HWinfo.
The GPU should drop down to 450Mhz if its due to gpu throttling. This could be due to temperature or power issues.
I have throttling but only when running my processor with a large overclock (x22 or higher).
Another rather obvious this is do you have stealth mode on? Always check stealth mode!
