Hi guys,
just wanted a few opinions. As seen in my sig I have a very nice M15X which I do love very much but with the announcement of the R3 M17X I can help but consider getting rid of the old faithful. The M17X looks dreamy to say the least and it has a faster CPU, better graphics, dual HDD bays on Sata III, HDMI in, WiHD and the list goes on. I didn't really want a 17" which is why the M15X was perfect for me but from what I've seen the R3 isn't much different at all in size and weight. And with the speculation of the M15X being killed off and the R3 being the replacement it's almost an upgrade of the M15X. On top of all this because I'm in UK my config would be worth £1300 at least and if I buy the R3 from US I can get the config I want for £1300 meaning no extra cost. Just wondering what you guys think, worth it or not, anyone else going to be jumping on the R3 bandwagon?

If you can replace your very nice M15x with a comparably equipped M17x-R3 for no net cost, it's a no-brainer. Order the R3 today.

I'd do it! I just recently purchased my M15x refurb and I was gonna return it to get the M17x R3 but the people over the phone convinced me not to. With some money back and a discount on a graphics card upgrade lol.

No brainer, get the M17X. Like you said, the weight and size difference is not significant. However, I'm very happy with my M15X even though it's not the best and plan to keep it for many years to come. Although if anything, I only regret my purchase because I could have bought a M11X r2 i7 for less and it would have been better for me.
