I'm fairly certain now that my 5850 is about to die The temperatures it's getting have made me switch back to my old latitude d830 rendering my poor m15x useless at the moment. I have a spare HP 6770m/firepro m5950 card lying around somewhere, but because it has no BIOS chip soldered on, the Alienware cannot detect the card resulting in one long beep and two short beeps. Pic is the exact card as you can see no ROM chip
I was just wondering if it's possible to do such a thing. It's possible on acer laptops but I'm wondering if it's doable on an Alienware. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do such a thing so if any of you peeps could help that would be wonderful!

I'm actually going to bump this. My 5850 has died for real this time. Hellish artifacts appearing, and BSOD's.
tl;dr
need the vbios of this card (I have the vbios of this exact card. Can supply it if needed) integrated into the m15x's system bios so it will detect the card upon booting allowing the system to use the card. -
I really don't know what type of BIOS M15x has, but here's a guide: http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...or-how-to-get-romless-video-card-work.729560/

I'm pretty sure it's a Phoenix BIOS just like the one valuxin was working on. All Alienware past 2011 use Insyde BIOSes.
Is it possible to integrate a VBIOS into an SBIOS for a M15x?
