I reloaded my computer to factory settings using the recovery partition.
Now when I download the ATI Catalyst drivers I get an error message saying I do not have an ATI graphics card and i need to get the right drivers or its not functioning properly....
please help

Do not install over the existing driver. Remove it completly including ALL AMD/ATI software. Then install the newest version from AMDs site.

Make sure you install the right version for your OS. Also, I know this is probably a given, but make sure you actually have an ATI card and not nVidia.

Yeah I have the radeon 5850.... So right after I factory reload I should have uninstalled any AMD Drivers and software before downloading and running the latest Catalyst?

Yeah, make sure everything that says ATI is gone. How to Completely Uninstall ALL ATI Drivers and Software. - YouTube I used this video when I did it. Hope it works out for you.
