Well,
As the title states, i have today had an excellent tech come to my house to replace the MOBO (due to lose power jack), the time from calling dell on Fri 18th to him arriving i didn't need to plead my case, simply told them it was lose, they asked for pic's sent via email and within 20 Min they had authorised the replacement of the MOBO and power brick.
The tech had no issues tearing the system down and even replaced the thermal pads at my request (didn't have any) and replaced the paste with AS5 (supplied by me).
In all it took him 45 Min to an hour and was really switched on.
I know its a bit preachy but i've read a lot of bad support stories and fully believe their true but rest assured there are decent dell employees out there.

thanks for posting. not alot of people post good experiences with dell. dell warranty is the main reason i always go back to dell.

I have had good experiences with Dell Tech as well (got Optical Drive changed twice, GPU once (GTX 260 to 5850) and more recently the Screen (old one had dust going into the panel).
