Hey. I've been experiencing some problems where my sound and image would lagg for a second or two once every 5-20 min.
Called dell, and they told me to do a fresh install, which I did.
Now im trying to get commandcenter and OSD to work, but it seems like it wont install after I download it from dell.
Is it safe to install it from my resource disk with A09 (the thread about not doing it states that it shouldnt be done with A05), or is there another place to get it than on dell's site?
Thanks in advance

Here's OSD A05, let me know if it works or not: OSD A05.zip

As always you are on the spot with fast and working reply
Thanks a lot

I tried downloading the "turbo-boost technology driver", and it tells me that my system is not compatible. Do I need this driver, or is it telling me the truth?
-
No, it's not necessary at all, if I remember correctly it's only the desktop gadget that shows you how much turbo boost you're currently getting.
Turbo boost is a fix part of the CPU and doesn't require a driver, it only needs to be activated in the BIOS. -
Ok. Thanks
Is there a way that I can get default windows-alienware theme back?
Right now I have a flower for a picture when I log in, and at the loginscreen I have some basic windows 7 wallpaper.
Also when I reactivated my mcafee it just gave me a 30 day trial, but on their website it says that my 3-year subscription is active. How do I switch to the 3-year plan?
again - Thanks in advance
Edit: Oh, and btw. The taskbar at the bottom used to be see-through, but now its an annoying lightblue color. Any tips on how to change that? -
No idea about the McAfee. About the backround see here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...ook-feel-after-clean-install-windows-7-a.html
And about the colors... right click on the desktop and click on personalize. -
So now its almost as I want it.
When I wanted to change the login-screen there were already some other pictures in the folder C:\Windows\System32\oobe\info\backgrounds and when I went to regedit to activate it, it chose one of the others. I tried moving the others to another folder. Now it doesnt show the picture I want nor the pictures I moved from the folder.
It just shows the basic windows wallpaper that it showed before. -
if you didn't write it down, perhaps it's in an email they sent you or in the worst case scenario you can log into their website and find it there somewhere in your login information. if not there either contact their tech support.
i did this for kaspersky when i had their sub so i assume it would be something similar. -
ok Thanks.
Guess i'll send them an email tomorrow -
So I figured out the login-background. I had to name the file backgroundDefault.jpg
Thx for helping me xeroxide and svl7
Hope someone else benefits from this aswell
Fresh install
