I have an Alienware M15x... does it has an internal MODEM?
What is this?
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits in Spanish.
I hope my question is not a re-post. If it is, can someone point me to the original post?
Thanks for your insides.
Thanks for your help.

I know there are 2 different wifi cards, because i've physically opened up my computer and seen them both first hand.
In terms of modem as in 56k, no my friend
*unless you got your special order/modded or maybe pci-e card" -
Ditto, I don't see a modem port.
-
Guys,
I undertand.
I don't have a special mod, I don't have a PCI-E card, I don"t have an USB MODEM plugged, I don't see the hole in the chasi where I could plug a RJ-11 (phone cable rapid jack).
But I do see this driver installed on my computer.
Also, this driver was automatically installed by thw Windows 7 installer, because I did a fresh and clean install... And I will remember if I try to install a MODEM.
Also, two WiFi cards? What doi you mean?
Thanks all for your reply and insides. -
There's like a commercial wifi, and private wifi, honestly i dont understand why but that's what the tech told me as he was taking apart my computer. *mobo died*
Try to uninstall the driver and see what device (if any) stop responding.
Maybe the spanish wordings is different then the english wording if that makes sense. -
The Revelator Notebook Prophet
Pepemosca, there are all kinds of virtual modems that can be used in Windows 7, i.e., VoIP, Fax Modem, tethering software for mobile phones, some Bluetooth apps, etc. Google "virtual modem Windows 7" (with as much refinement as you can add from viewing the driver) to get a sense of the uses. Perhaps you'll see something that is familiar that could have resulted in a virtual modem being installed.

What the heck are you guys talking about when you say 2 wifi cards? Are you sure you're not confusing this "2nd wifi card" for what may be a bluetooth card or maybe even a gobi card? My M15x only had 1 actual wifi card lol.
-
Guys, I was away from home since monday.
@The Revelator, I think you had the point: I think the virtual MODEM comes from "ORACLE Virtual Box".
So, there is a 90% of chance is just a virtual driver.
On the other hand? Two WiFi? I don't think so.
Also, in Spanish is the same "MODEM" as is in English.
So, thanks all for the ideas, thougts and comments! -
The two "WiFi cards" are actually one WiFi card and one Bluetooth card
-
I dont know about the bluetooth card because i remember not ordering one of those in my computer, unless they come with it by default. I dont see bluetooth in my device manager.
About the 2 wifi cards its what the tech guy told me as he was taking my computer apart, so he's wrong not me. JK -
It looks like is not the Virtual Box.
To be honest, it doesn't bother me.
I'll do some Windows reinstall and check at that time.
But, if anyone has any idea... I'll be very thankful! -
I know what could it be... my BlackBerry Desktop software!
BlackBerry - Desktop Software for PC -
Yeah its a possibility, does that software let you tether your phone use it as internet?
-
I never tether and never will with this BlackBerry phone.
But I have just found this page talking about the "Tether" option: http://www.blackberrycool.com/2009/03/10/how-to-tether-your-blackberry-for-free-via-bluetooth-mac-and-pc/
So, it could just be a virtual MODEM for the BlackBerry.
Does the M15x has a MODEM?
