Design me a coloware M15x!!!

I really like that lime green and the black, has an Alien feel to it for sure.


So basically, M15x with lights up the wazoo, a custom colorware paint job and a 5870? Can it be beat? Nope. Are you out of your mind paying that much? Yes. Does it feel good? I think we all know the answer.

 

Well, I always, ALWAYS drooled over fancy cutom painted falcon and voodoo (pre-hp of course) desktops back in the day

Now is my chance to get something like that done to a pretty sick looking system to begin with so the colorware job will only intensify that.

And why don't Colorware do the painting for M17x?

 

Probably because of the anodized aluminum which isn't impossible just requires a special primer for it. Also they won't let you send in pieces, it has to be the whole system. That would be a deal breaker for me.

 

Yeah, the aluminum would most likely be why they don't offer it.

I bet if they added the M11x for $350 or so it would be a very popular sell because the M11x is decently priced as-is.

 

Well if your going to get it that way (which I think is AWESOME), you should let the engraving at the bottom be "M17x Storm Trooper" or something like that, unless you want to send the plate to somebody who wins this contest of course.

(If so, It better be a non US person, cause we can't get those engravings ).

But I wasn't going to send the plate. I'd rather it stay with the system and keeps everything unique. I also don't keep systems long but the colorware job on this thing should keep me interested for a while, therefore when I sell it the next owner gets the whole thing and will know who designed the color scheme

Maybe I'm cheezy but I think that is pretty cool and not something you see everyday....

 

Two more. Not sure if I will come up with more. I still like my original 2 the most.

I just realized there is a "brainstorm" button (bottom left) that just randomly thows out colors and a design.

Has that always been there?

What I recommend you do is , It might be a little work for you, but it would help us " designers " out...lol

1) pick the design you like so far and post it on the first page, say maybe 5 picks, this way, everyone can see what is your style and maybe do something better...

2) And finally when contest is nears end, you can pick your #1 choice.

 

Well, I can tell you I like a more streamlined and understated look, like drakes and war's (and others if I didn't mention you).

I am going to do a few of my own later and post them on the front page as ideas.

I really like that baby blue and black, drake.

The reason I keep going back to white it becasue I want the Diamond pearl paint which is color-changing paint.

Remember that this is a $500 paint job and I want my moneys worth

I'd personally go for a system that's mostly black with red on the smaller sections. (It's ironically the colour scheme I have in mind for my future Ferrari, should I be lucky enough to get one in 10 years or so )

I think it'd look awesome like that. Can't be bothered to design it though, don't need the hard drive in the competition anyway

 

Regardless what you do I would leave the palm rest and trackpad/buttons a dark color.

The keyboard would have been white just like the lid and bottom if they had that option.

Ok these are my final offerings, last one looks good as an M15x ATi Edition.

 

personally, I like the orange-black design the most, but keeping in mind the simple fact that your mood will most likely change many times during a relatively short time and the cost of the painting job, - I have to agree on the Black-White or maybe even the Golden-Black variants as the minimally annoying on the long run.

 

I have to agree with that. That's why I would go with the black n white

 

I have always wanted to coloware something such as my iPhone, but decided not to and wish I did. Stick with it Sleey!!!! Especially on a product such as this!

Here's my two votes.

The inside screen could be white if you prefet, but i think the white would strain your eyes when focusing on the screen in the dark.
The grill could also be white but depending on your lighting, black would work better since white would 'drain' the color.

A stormtrooper setup as someone mentioned earlier. More of a 'daytime' setup. But who games during the day? The night time is the right time

Not sure why but first thing I thought of when I saw that was "Black-Ice". Pretty beast name for that look

 

I messed around with the one I just posted and did the exhaust vents in candy apple red.

What colors of AlienFX would you be using? If I was getting a colorwared pc I would want it to be done in a scheme that would match almost every color combination. If you're a fan of green, the red accented exhaust vents would scream merry christmas. Black and White cover almost everything

 

You won't see the red exhaust vents and the lights at the same time (no lights in the exhaust vents lol).

I dunno. I did it on the configurator and it looked pretty cool.

 

Are there any extra costs with colorware? I thought it was 500 but when you pick certain elements to change the color of there is a price tag next to the name of the color on the right hand side of the window.
