Figured I'd start a thread on the game and see how everyone's systems are holding up with it.
I'm curious what kind of framerate you can get with older cards like the 460m. If anyones tested let me know

Will be testing the game next week with the 7970M @ 0.975v. I'm really excited to see King of Intern's result though~!

I ain't got the game yet? When will it be released. I will be trying it with cpu at 23/23/25/27 and gpu at 950/1450! This now that I have figured out the nature of the throttling issues that plagued the M15x.
I reckon 950mhz at 1.05V and around 1500mhz on memory will be close to the thermal limit of the M15x. Temps will hit 80C. To go higher and get to 1000mhz we will have to be willing to pass the 85C mark!
What is the safe upper temp on a 7970M lol?
edit: I have removed FC3 (played to death now lol) and am currently preloading Crysis 3! Not playable until tomorrow!
Looking forward to it peeps -

Game runs fine here. Just make sure to turn vsync off. Running everything on very high with SMAA x1 and 16x anistropic at 1080p @ 900/1400 and cpu at 23/23/25/27 at 87W tdp.
To avoid throttle in this game. Load into the game first. Once the game is loaded you have to press enter to start gameplay. Don't. First alt tab out and run gpuz render test to get gpu load up to 100%. When temps reach 60C quit the render and alt tab back in and hit enter to start gameplay. No throttle. Yes no throttle even at 900/1400 and the cpu running 3ghz across 8 threads 40-60fps I would say. Temps reached 78C on GPU and funnily 77-79C on CPU. certainly a more taxing game than FC3 but no match for the mighty M15x Also gpu vram usage got to 1700mb! The 2GB does come in handy!
950/1450 also works but I only now figured out the best approach to sort the throttle under the settings above so not fully tested. 900/1400 seems more than adequate to max this game anyways. -

Holy crap! Firstly good job for discovering that method of alt tabbing to stop throttling.
Secondly playing Crysis 3 on very high on an M15x is immense! My M15x is nearly 3 years old!
I've just bought a 6990m and I know the performance gap to the 7970m is huge but I hope I can run crysis 3 on fairly decent settings.
I'll just keep praying that 7970m drops in price
Also King of Interns I've read you used to have a 6990m. Do you remember what OC values you had it stable at? -
