Howdy everyone. I was investigating why Skyrim and SWTOR are running just a bit slower than my buddies, and discovered my Geforce 460m isn't clocking correctly.
From what I've seen posted, the speed should be 625MHz core by default with a VDDC of 1.0V. The max I am seeing is a 570MHz core with a VDDC of 0.9V. In the discussions with other people having this problem I've seen no solution. Playing with drivers, power managment and so on had no effect.
Am I missing something here? Any help is appreciated!

Hi,
460m is downclocked by Dell. You can easily change the stock settings (eg nvidia inspector). -
Alright, so I found mention of a new dell VBIOS and applied it to the video card. Now everything looks clocked correctly!
Unfortunately, the GPU Temp hit 91C during SWTOR, and it began throttling a bit. I've cleaned everything out but it still seems to run about 15C hotter. This may just be normal, and I'll have to attempt a reseat/repaste of the GPU. Idle at min clocks (50/67/101) I get about 46C.
Anyone else using a Geforce 460m at 675MHz in an M15X with the stock 260m cooler? What are your temps idle and under load?
Oh, and I noticed my fans aren't running at max speed either when the throttling occurs. Anyone know how I might force them to rev up?
Thanks! -
I'd say that your temperatures are higher than they should. But I don't know if the 460m just runs hotter. -
Can you post where you found the vbios? I am having the same issues. My default clock is 575 where it should be 625. Thanks.

OMG my card is messed up also. OOPS I read the post where it says the dell cards are downclocked. Reading is key here guys. There isnt anything wrong with you GTX460m's 570 is stock Dell clock.
Confused, Geforce 460m not clocked right?
