For a month or so, upon booting my early 2010 M15X, I get the error about the charger not being the recommended voltage, etc.
Usually, the laptop would still charge. However, now it won't charge. The laptop will be powered, but it's 'plugged in, not charging'.
The battery wear level is 25%, and the blue ring on the end of the charger that plugs into the laptop hasn't worked in 18 months.
It's still under my lovely 3 year warrenty. What should I try before I email Dell?
I've already taken the battery out, done the power on for 30 seconds thing, that didn't do anything. I'm getting a feeling it's the charger not the battery. Ideas?

Yeah, just give Dell a call or PM a rep here and have them swap out the charger. Seems to be dying at a slow rate.

Sorry to dig up this thread.
After not using the laptop for a month or two, all the issues seemed to resolve themselves, until now.
I'm getting the same issue, plugged in, not charging.
Now my system is out of warrenty, and to extend it is $300. I'm sure just replacing the charger is cheaper, if it is the charger in fact. My battery wear level is 29%.
With the problems described in my original post, is it my charger or battery?
What are the replacement costs of either for my system? -
