Hi guys, I've scoured this forum but couldn't find any answers to this one...
Every time I OC my 460m it runs well with a noticeable increase in FPS but after 10-15mins it'll stutter for a few seconds, frames will drop to like 5fps then recover. It happens randomly but will do it at least every 5-10 mins whilst OC'd. It happens in every game, BF3, Skyrim...
Running at stock clocks it's fine but as soon as I change anything, it stutters but I can't see why...
Temps never go above 73C, load does get to 99% but it's not overheating.
I'm running:
I7 720
C300 SSD
Latest beta drivers from Nvidia
675/1250/1350 and can't increase.
Any ideas?

Tried using MSI afterburner and Nvidia control panel. Both work and the clocks do go up but it doesn't like it for very long. Tried your clocks and even tiny increases from stock but the result is the same. Still stutters with minimal increase the same as massive increases. It's an aftermarket 460m I put in to replace 260m and I'm not sure if it's clevo or dell.

I would rather not flash any GPU chipset.. try to work with a different software. Did u try new windows? I had same problem with my M15x, I uninstalled crysis , nvidia tools, ran the CCleaner and reinstalled it worked like a charm until I fried the laptop.

I'd rather not mess with the bios again, kind of a pain... I'll uninstall everything and try putting it back on. If not I'll try a fresh windows install and see...

Well I removed everything Nvidia from my system and re-installed the lot. I didn't put Nvidia system tools back and just used afterburner to OC to 800/1500 but again it stuttered after a few minutes of BF3...
Funny thing is the stock clocks ran better and cooler than they did before!?
Max temp 56C and 50% load. Before it was 70+ and 99% load so there is some improvement in the performance at stock but any OC is still a no no.
The readout from gpu-z pnce OC'd is kinda stange too...
Overclocked
Stock
I don't really wanna do a complete window reinstall as I'm not sure it'd help and is a bit of a hassle. If you guys think its worth it I will but anything else you can think of? -

if you get a jagged line on the temp bar it means you have throttling issues -
Ran furmark and it looks like it is thottling seriously when overclocked. Temps are all up and down but max is 65C.
Stock runs much better but gets up to 75C at benchmark 1080. Ran it for a while at stock and it trooped on to 87C only stalling once then kept rising with consistent fps.
OC
Stock
So it seems to throttle at any kind of clocks above stock...? -

Thats what I was thinking. Anyway to fix that or bump up my voltage? A new PSU?

I was thinking that too, the clocks/voltage are being throttled or something.
I have no issues running at my clocks, and I can even go 850/1700/1625 for benchmarks. -

Currently got the default 150W power supply and the 460m voltage is 0.825 idle and 0.95 maxed according to gpu-z...

Just running an I7 720 so nothing extreme. Only other thing I've changed is hdd for ssd but there shouldn't be anything too taxing otherwise. Thing is now my Internet is down so ATM I can't run any games cos they're all in steam. Still I just repasted processor and gpu and cleaned all heat sinks so I'll try and run some Oc benchmarks and note any change. Otherwise I don't know...

I don't know for sure but I think it's clevo. Got it from 'upgradeyourlaptop' on eBay so I don't think it's dell. Anyway to tell?
