Screen doesn't light up when not plugged in? What are your brightness settings?
I remember that my screen didn't light up on boot after a system crash when I had my brightness on the lowest level previously. -
not the brightness sorry i mean screen doesn't get even switched on !!!
-
Yes, that's what happend to me when I had the brightness on the lowest level... but I guess it's probably a more serious issue in your case.
You say you need to boot with AC plugged in, this means this only happens when on battery? -
and i must either do the powerdrain trick or plug my ac adapter after 3 sec then directly it shows up win7 boot up screen!! -
what happens after u boot up into windows can u unplug your ac:
will your lappy run good with screen on
or does it shut down..... -
and windows 7 is running fine !! -
Sorry, when you see on the screen the boot up Alienware logo... you have the keyboard lights ON?
-
sorry for my observation mistake guys.....its all about the brightness issue!!
backlight problem, what should i do now?
and it gave me an error in preboot assesment unable to modify the lcd panel brightness!! -
Are you sure you don't have the LCD panel brightness dimmer activated?
-
how is it activated and how can i deactivate it? -
This notebook (the M15x) doesn't have dimmer Sorry! -
then how can i fix this issue?
-
U should probably call dell and state the new issues and request a overnite shipping request service, imo
-
actually ill contact em but this looks like some kinda small bug...i can correct it please post the instructions!!
Boot up sadness!!!
