    Hi

Can anyone tell me anything about this crash I have had. I have had couple of times last year but now three times in January. I will be on my laptop usually just on the net when all of a sudden the cursor freezes then secs later I get a blue crash screen followed by a msg something like " Clock not received on 2nd processor "

I tried to get a contact email for Dell / Alienware UK to email ,, but couldn't find (perhaps as my warranty expired now),, there was numbers but I am babysitting a 1yr old and 4yr old so dont have time or quietness to make a call.

I installed the alien autopsy tool,, did a full diagnostic check and it said everything working fine ??

Anyone know what these crashes are? if they anything to be concerned of? or anyway to prevent them ??

I havent installed anything new inc hardware ,, and I dont overclock,, not that it seems to be happening during games anyway ???

    Cheers all :)

Watch this video for further info on BSOD's. Please let me know the file that's causing the BSOD with the tool indicated in the video.

This just happened again tonight and again while I was online surfing and NOT in-game,

My Blue Screen does not go away and I have to switch off manually to get rid of it. (I checked to see if it was set to permanent like on the vid,, but it isn't) I could not see as pointed out in the video any file name,, all its got along the bottom was a series of numbers 0000001 just like in the one on the video but no file name,, there is a msg saying gathering information for report or words to that affect,,, but it just hangs and never generates anything

The only msg i get along the top for the cause is something about timing out on the secondary processor,, always the secondary processor

Not sure what to do ??

Im presuming you have to use this tool right after the BSOD ???,,,, as when I just opened the .exe file there I get no report,, tried refreshing too.

Not really, it reads the mini dump files saved in your system after every crash, do you have any OS optimization tool like CCleaner? because that could be deleting the errors...

Sometimes it isnt stored in the MINIDUMP folder try C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP

One of the menu bars in Bluescreenview will let you navigate to that i forgot which one though

Just got on my dell and saw the route to tell it to load that file

Options -> Advanced Options -> Load Single Minidump file -> C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP

Ill double check if thats the right path to the MEMORY.DMP

Yes its good attempt to load that single file

    Cheers for the feedback guys,,

Yes I do have CCleaner Natalia,,,but I wasn't aware that it would delete stuff in the background,, I dont have it set up to do anything on auto (that I'm aware of that is),, i just use it now and then.

Tried that file path trickster but I dont appear to have a Memory.DMP folder in my windows folder,, is it perhaps a hidden folder??

Its a file not a folder.....i can check if its hidden though the only reason of its absence is if CCcleaner got rid of it OR youve never had a BSOD which we all know you have

    Hi Guys

Just had the computer shut down unexpectedly whilst (again) surfing the web. I have loaded that app and this time there is some info. There wasn't a blue screen this time,, just a complete shut down and reboot but as it happened under the same circumstances thought I would post. So here is the info from the columns that have anything under them.

    Dump file - 031914-36956-01dmp
Crash time - (the time it happened)
    Bug check code - 0x00000116
    parameter 1 - fffffa80'0a06c0d0
    parameter 2 - fffff880'0599ce30
    parameter 3 - 00000000'00000000
    parameter 4 - 00000000'00000000d
    caused by driver - dxgkml.sys
    caused by address - dxgkml.sys+5d140
    processor - x64
    Crash address - ntoskml.exe+75bc0
    full path - c\windows\minidump\031914-36956-01.dmp
    processors - 8
    major version - 15
    minor version - 7601
    dump file - 365,176
dump file time - as it happened.

Any idea what might be causing the issue ??

    Cheers again :)
