Hi, i've been offered a new boxed M15x with i7 920 8mb cache, 16gb ram, gtx 460 nvidia 1.5 gb, blu ray, 750gb hard drive for £750
What do you think?

katalin_2003 NBR Spectre Super Moderator750 pounds it's too much if it's no longer under warranty, yido

In comparison, I bought my M15x 2-3 weeks ago for $400 and upgraded to exactly about what that one is at.

 M15x $400 (got a GOOD deal)
 460m $250
 920xm $250
 16gb Ram $85

 Total $1000~

I am at about $1000 without the killer 1102 and ssd I added as well. Of course when I sell the parts I replaced I will be down to $850 but I did get a good deal on the m15x to begin with.

That is about right price wise if it is brand new, with a warranty I would say it is a fair deal. If I wanted to sell mine as it sits, I would ask $1200~ with the ssd and killer 1102, which is less than what you would pay for that one. Relative to other alienware models, I do not know if that is a good deal or not, but in terms of m15x's, I think it is fair.

Edit: I also do not have a blu-ray player, I do not know the values of those too well.

i agree, that is a fair offer, and the notebook is great...

King of Interns Simply a laptop enthusiastThat is a good solid deal. You could sell the 460M and get yourself a 7970M to replace it and still keep costs nicely under 1000 pounds total. Which is a beastly price for such a machine in the UK!

If you followed that route this M15x with its spec would be top end current for a good couple of years no problem.
