Hey guys, I have a spare Dell R9 M290X I tried to install in my M15x....but the darn fan is on full blast ALL THE TIME. I've tried flashing the Dell 8970M vBIOS, the Dell R9 M290X vBIOS, the Clevo 8970M vBIOS, the MSI 8970M vBIOS (which gave a soft brick), and the Dell 7970M vBIOS (which gave hard brick)
Anybody know a way to get fans working 100% native control? Or at least, what video cards (SPECIFICALLY) give 100% native fan control? Thanks.

Dell 7970M and 680M don't cause full fan!
Sometimes when I boot I get full fan speeds but not usually.
Hwinfo can force the fans to slow. Have you tried that?
Try changing fan speed values on it and then quit the program and see if the fan speed returns to full speed or if the system takes control.
Then restart and see if the fans are under control from boot.
Other than that cannot help you. -
Eff.. So I have to sell this card and get into a 7970M or a 680M. I say this because I need to have native fan control for my OSx86 work, there is no fan control to communicate with the EC in OS X.
Anybody wanna trade cards? I reflashed to original Dell BIOS. -

Absolutely! I will take it! I would love to play around with this. Bored of the 680M
