I just replaced my 260m with a 5850m, and I am trying to figure out if I applied enough thermal grease to the gpu (arctic mx-4). I also replaced the thermal pads. My Current Temps are:
Idle - 50-55, load 68-72.
I did I furmark burn in test, and it reached 80 around the 5 minute mark.
From what I have seen, those these temperatures are a little high. Any idea's?

That's normal. Actually my card runs around that temperature also.
If it hits over 90-100 degrees, then teh card is running a little bit hotter than usual. -
That is super normal I would guess... You are gonna see a massive jump in Performance... Congrats.

Those temps are just fine. You may see the idle temps drop a few degrees in the days to come, but the load temps and Furmark temps are excellent. Super job with the MX-4. Good stuff.

Thanks I was just concerned because I had seem quite a few people post their idle temps as around 47-49, and some even as low as 43. I was also concerned about the furmark burnin test because someone posted that they hit 88 at 20 minutes. I hit 80 at five minutes, so I would have probably hit 88 around the 8-10 minute mark.
Thank you all for the help. -
If you want temps to compare with, here are the gpu temps for my M17x.
Both my cards are 5870m, so the max temp should be the same.

Yes, and also cleaning the vents... today I fixed an overheating notebook for someone... the GPU hit 90-100°C under little load. I opened it and found this:
